Dalindèo release gig at Jazz Heat Bongo Beat 30.1.
Ricky-Tick’s Jazz Heat Bongo Beat kicks 2010 off with style. Rolling live at our bi-monthly slot at Helsinki’s Kuudes Linja on Saturday, January 30 are Dalindèo, firm label favourites since the early days. This time around, the sextet turns into an octet with the inclusion of the hard-cookin’ Timo Lassy on sax+flute and the upcoming young gun Kasperi Sarikoski on trombone. The occasion, of course, is the live premiere of the band’s new LP "Soundtrack for the Sound Eye" out in January, which displays a deep cinematic edge to the band’s tight ensemble sound.
In true Jazz Heat Bongo Beat style, the DJ section is working hard to match the intensity of the live performance, and to ensure that your jazz is on and on until the break of dawn. Our January edition features everyone’s favourite drummer Teppo "Teddy Rok" Mäkynen on DJ duty presenting his remarkable deck skills alongside resident DJ Matti Nives.
Dalindèo in 2010 are in top form and are about to release an album which we consider their best thus far. Why don’t you join us in seeing what you think. See below for more release news.
*** Dalindèo’s Valtteri Pöyhönen is featured as guest on the “Lauantaijatsit” radio show on the day of the event at Bassoradio FM, airing at 2-4pm (GMT +2). The show will also feature a CD & ticket giveaway for the night’s club event. Listen at 102,8mhz (Helsinki) or online at www.basso.fi/bassostreami.m3u

RTCD015/RT036 Dalindèo: "Soundtrack for the Sound Eye"
CD / vinyl LP+mp3 / download
Out now in Finland, March 2010 in Europe.
Dalindèo release LP number two
Hot on the heels of their successful 2009 single releases, Dalindèo deliver their eagerly awaited second full-lenght album, “Soundtrack for the Sound Eye”, available on Ricky-Tick Records in January 2010. Moving towards a more cinematic sphere of sound, the Helsinki-based sextet proves that they are ready to match the high expectations brought up by their previous releases.
An imagined soundtrack not directly linked to any one context or location, the 13-track strong “Soundtrack for the Sound Eye” comes across as a remarkable collection of intensive moods with an astonishingly wide range. The band’s multi-layered soundscape hints at afrobeat, soul, Balkan flavours and even desert blues, while still keeping true to composer Pöyhönen’s search for the group’s own and constantly evolving brand of postmodern jazz in the 21st century.

Confirmed "Soundtrack for the Sound Eye" release gigs:
